Highly decorative 17th Century copper engraved map of Germany produced by the famous English mapmaker, John Speed. The present map is an excellent example of Speed's carte-a-figure map of Germany from his 'Prospect Of The Most Famous Parts Of The World.' The map has decorative borders showing eight city views along the top, while the lateral borders show various orders of citizens. Originally published in 1626, this edition was published by Bassett & Chiswell in 1676. A highly desirable item.
